Internet texas holdem poker is one of the better pastimes I have come across in a long time. I never played poker in the card rooms and only recently did a colleague of mine introduce me to playing poker online. I guess it makes sense; the web is used for many of my daily tasks including work, banking, and current events. I might as well add entertainment to that list since I now play internet texas Holdem games on poker ace 99.
People tell me that the online experience is much different that playing poker at a live table.
I don’t know the difference since I’ve only ever played internet texas holdem and a few other online poker games. Internet texas holdem has a steady pace and is very easy to learn. Before I played internet texas holdem for money I practiced at the free-play section of the poker room I frequent. Playing with demo money I picked up some valuable tips and experience, including some bluffing and player-reading techniques. Internet texas holdem has its fair share of bluffers and I would recommend learning some of the online reads before getting into real money action. Players are more apt to bluff I think because they face less risk of embarrassment. I am certainly no stranger to the internet texas holdem bluff.
After playing internet texas holdem for several months I can easily see why this game is so popular.
Poker in general is a unique blend of skill, luck, and perhaps what is best described as common sense. Patience is definitely a poker virtue and although important, it is less relevant when playing internet texas holdem because of the quick pace. Poker gurus will tell you that internet texas holdem is not better nor will it ever replace the live game, and they may be right. Internet texas holdem is a great game for those new to the game especially those of us most comfortable and accustomed to the online environment. The internet is always improving and always multi dimensional and changes will inevitably be seen in internet texas holdem.
My verdict
I personally look forward to experiencing what happens when technology meets tradition and internet texas holdem evolves even further. Until the next innovation I will continue enjoying a great game.
